Except... The field wasn't empty. The path continued through the field for a very long time, seemingly going on for ages.

He burst into the field from the woods and expected to find something, but... There was nothing!! Except the path. Holy shit, this was like that old tale... Whatchamacallit, Magic of Oscar? He forgot, but he'd follow the path anyway. After all, why the hell not.

The path continued for quite some time, until, slowly but surely, building came into view. There was a settlement or village at least a half mile away from where Jack was stood right now.

He groaned and stopped on the path after a bit, not imagining that it'd be that boring to just... Walk. Looking back at the direction of the camp, he wondered if it'd be wise to go back... But considering he was already so far away, he just whispered 'fuck it' under his breath and began walking again. All of it while singing several songs to himself to not die of boredom.

Jack slowly continued down to the path until the village became more clear to see. It was well built, and they seemingly had a degree of technology. The village itself was surrounded by a large fence, and the previously found river also flowed through it. As Jack got closer to the #village-gate some lifeforms could be seen milling about within the fenced off settlement.

His voice soon diminished to barely a whisper and he stopped singing, his eyes widening. Oh, SHIT. So there were lifeforms in this planet! But not underground. Dammit, he'd probably have to pay a few strips to Jessil later because he !OST the bet. But while that wasn't the case... He followed his gut feeling and darted into the woods, but kept on making his way towards the settlement.
